Refurbishment of Toilet Block

As the trusted long-term Service and Maintenance partner for many schools throughout East Anglia, one of the primary schools needed a refurbishment of the tired toilet block.

The Challenge

The existing toilets were very tired, and the layout was not suitable for the schools’ current needs, with no need for urinals and the requirement for an additional toilet cubicle.

Results

Our in-house Project Manager firstly designed the new toilet layout and created a series of CAD drawings for approval by the Trust before we set to work on the programme of works and the H&S plan. We opted to alter the layout of the toilet area to include an additional toilet cubicle and 2x wash basins. All panels were made from Solid Grade Laminate Panels (SGL), which are very hard wearing and long lasting, along with high quality fixtures and fittings. The flooring was replaced with Altro hot welded waterproof flooring to ensure the area is watertight for many years.

The project was a success and was completed safely, on budget and on time within the agreed 2-week period, ready to use when the school reopened after the summer break.
